In my opinion, it is a disingenuous to pretend that a double standard has to be declared in order to be in effect. It is also disingenuous to pretend that all countries have equal rights despite their disparities in size, wealth, or military might.

The fact is that any wealthy nation has more rights because it has the wealth to legally enforce their rights. What value do rights have that one does not have the wealth or military might to enforce? Those rights become totally ostensible and of little or no value.

Your statement that there is no double standard is of this same disingenuous nature. It is a pretense of equality when in real life everyone knows that the ostensible right to pre-emptive attack on the part on any other nation becomes eclipsed by the US's military might.

It is like matching a 100 pound guy with a 300 pound guy in a fight and pretending that they are equal.

Your presentation is like that. It exists in the world of pretense.

We live in the real world. And in the real world the threat of retaliation carries a lot of weight. In the real world a 100 pound man vs a 300 pound man is not a fair fight. You go ahead and pretend that it is.

The rest of us know better.
