And before that just about every major group enslaved other groups in ancient times. Germans, Celts and Greeks and others where enslaved by Romans. The Carthaginians, the Greeks, and the Persians had slaves. Before them the Egyptians did as did other civilizations. And such slavery was not limited to the regions I mentioned. The Chinese had slaves, as did other Asian cultures. The pre-Spanish empires in what is now Latin America had slaves.

Its pretty hard to think how anyone could have not had ancestors that where slaves.
