Sprint Wins Networx Contract

MAY 31, 2007

RESTON, Va. -- Sprint (NYSE:S) today announced that it has been awarded the Networx Enterprise contract offered by the General Services Administration (GSA). This multi-year, $20 billion award strengthens Sprint’s leadership position in offering a broad portfolio of innovative telecommunications services that can be customized to the mobility, IP and convergence needs of federal, civilian and defense agencies. This allows agencies to unify the functions and applications of their desktop, voicemail and mobile devices, and gives them the power to mobilize their workforce without the slightest compromise in security.

With 18 years of experience as a GSA telecommunications provider, a proven history of innovation, secure solutions and a dedication to service, Sprint offers agencies a seamless and interoperable communications environment. Sprint gives agencies the power to meet today's communications challenges such as upgrading enterprise architectures, orchestrating the convergence of disparate technologies and networks, mobilizing the workforce, and ensuring business continuity and responsiveness during emergencies.

“Sprint has built its success on being a telecommunications pioneer in the federal arena, and winning the Networx Enterprise contract, which is aligned with our forward-looking corporate strategy, now validates our continued strong commitment to the federal marketplace,” said Gary Forsee, chairman and chief executive officer of Sprint. “Our assets include some of the nation’s most extensive wireless and wireline networks, ensuring that information can be delivered when and where it’s needed. We have created platforms for technical development specifically to enable rapid deployment and customization of enterprise-level applications.”
