this says it all really. Unless somebody is a completely gullible kid, like a rapper with no knowledge of business, this type of monetary reward just doesn't cut it.

When the US recording industry was in its heyday, I would say in the 60s and 70s, artists had control, AND got rich. Once that ended, the music industry fell off in terms of new talent.
