My connection with hospice was from the perspective of the emergency room. In my experience the vast majority of physicians support hospice wholehearte4dly.

Don't forget that doctors are subject to lawsuits or sometimes even murder indictments for withholding care so their hands are often tied. It is rarely an ego problem-although it may appear as such. A civil lawsuit is a nightmare. A murder indictment even more so.
