Whoa! That really depends on the quality of the teacher doing the homeschooling. I have met homeschooled kids who are behind their public/private school peers. Secondly, spelling is the kind of subject where a kid has to want to learn it......I was a good speller and in fact, I competed in that spelling bee and represented my junior high in the city wide bee. However, I liked to spell and would practice spelling even while watching tv. Without that personal motivation, I don't think you can be a good speller.
