I seem to remember that my broker wouldn't let me sell puts.

So do you short the stock when you sell the put? I did a calculation once and figured that if I'd bought long dated Nortel puts in 2000, the returns would have been astronomical.

So I can see where you're coming from. It appears to me that options love volatility, and it looks like some may be coming our way.
