flash flood warning for: dane county in south central wisconsin
Until 830 pm cdt
At 625 pm cdt, national weather service doppler radar indicated flash flooding from a cluster of thunderstorms near sun prairie madison, middleton and cottage grove. Also near marxville and cross plains. The storms are drifting southeast at around 10 mph.
Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to fitchburg, mcfarland, albion, deerfield and pine bluff.
Doppler radar rainfall estimates and spotter reports indicate 1.25 to 1.75 inches of rain in an hour has occurred under some of these storms.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
