You didn't say what you liked about Goldwater. One thing that set him apart from most Republicans was his opposition to civil rights legislation. Maybe that is what you liked about him. In 1964, the Democrats said Goldwater would be much more aggressive against Communism than Johnson and was therefore dangerous. Being a Goldwater supporter, do you think they were lying about him?
