Yeah, but it'd make sense that on average, if a kid has one-on-one attention all the time from parents that have the financial ability and the dedication to make it happen, he'll do pretty well, on average.

Not true. I never studied spelling (not even for spelling tests in school). I made the regional spelling be twice -- once in sixth grade, and once in tenth. When you've got it, you've got it :)

Then again, my mom's a reading specialist and she had me reading at the age of 2.
