Since oil is in dollars; OPEC currency or monetary policy is not going to effect US economy.

We are more influenced by corn and ethanol price. But ethanol price is effected by methanol(wood alcohol) price which is always cheaper and can be used for gasoline as well.

46 gasoline formulas are now alcohol and water; plus some additives. This knowledge may still be secret, due to national security act since 1993. Methanol gasoline idles at 700 RPM and has less power starting the car runnuing at low RPM. Ethanol gasoline has more torque at low RPM, the car will not stall and can coast at 1000 RPM in town. My father had a Fiat topalino in shanghai 1846; that ran on wood alcohl, which is hard to start; until we added grease in 1993 in the US.
