I totally agree with you. We CAN NOT afford the "SEMI-BRAIN
DEAD-JUST-MILK-IT-DRY" management.

Telecom. companies are going to be the most difficult companies to run
in the next five years. A lot of shakeouts are going to happen. By
the time it is done, I guess there are only around 4 companies left.

Telecom. industry just started its consolidation process. A little
different from the consolidation of the airline industry, telecom.
conoslidation is more technology driven and more dependent on the
development other industries such as computer/PC, media/entertainment,
banking,....etc. Therefore, it is very critical that the leaders of
the telecom. companies possess the characteristics of a combination of
vision and praticality of DAY-TO-DAY basic blocking and tackling.

The current BIG BOYS(AT&T, RBOC's,...etc.) may not be the survivors of
the future. I hope GTE or the combination of AT&T/GTE is one of the
survivors.
