I know I primarily lurk and sometimes post, but living in Alaska and watching what has happened to Kensington Mine I'm more than a little paranoid of anything which might involve permits in our area.

Under the guise of environmental protection Kensington gets told gee the Army Corps made a mistake, and oh no, we won't reimburse you for any expenses you may have incurred under the assumption we knew what we were doing when granting the permit. I've looked at Kensington's proposal, reviewed the amount of funds they have backing up the mine and I'm utterly amazed it isn't going forward.

This is affecting people who live, eat and breathe in my community, but it appears we are more interested in protecting what is in a puddle than our own human beings.

Maybe I should change from CathyJ to Paranoid in Alaska.
