What I was alluding to was the constant refrain from the Right to make English the official language. I read many letters to the editor how so and so's grandparents learned to speak English as soon or sooner than they got here.....these folks have to be great grandchildren at least. When I make my joke that their ancestors must have learned to speak English before they got off the boat, it goes right over their heads. Now you say your Dad's family was Norwegian....did they speak English when they got here??? I know mine didn't... And I believe I told why I think they were legal.....essentially the same way Bush wants to legalize the Mexican immigrant....do you support Bush on this?
