"When it is obvious that there are other motives, what would you have intelligent people do, just pretend and hope that people in general are too stupid to notice the truth?

The truth is, the situation in Iraq is complex. I would have intelligent people engage in rational discussion that addresses the complexity, rather than engage in partisan slams against their competition for public office.

I would have intelligent people hold the government accountable, so that national strategic interests work in harmony with the national interest in principles of liberty. I would have intelligent people encourage the use of our military forces to defeat the forces of brutal and tyrannical terrorism. I would have intelligent people make their expectations of our representatives to raise the bar of ethical discourse and eliminate partisan bashing, as doing otherwise emboldens the enemies of America's strategic and principle interests.
