AT&T has an exclusive on the iPhone. It uses the technology that is used in Europe but it is going to be locked to the AT&T system only. The problems with the iPhone is the battery life. This thing is WAY overhyped. Performance will be disappointing. The AT&T network isn't capable of handling the things that Jobs says the iPhone can do. This AAPL move is simply hype. This stock is going to be one of the greatest shorts of all time, but when is the question. I would guess that a good timr to try it is when the phone is actually out there for sale and then the dissatisfied customers start moaning. All the other cell phone companies have or are working on iPhone killers that will actually be able to do the things that the iPhone should. But they will be functional on other, more capable networks, i.e. Verizon and Sprint.
