Do you shop at Wild Oats?..I never have..Whole Foods has always been the presence in any neck of the woods I've lived..back in the 80s, Cambridge had "Bread and Circus"..I still remember the narrow aisles, bad-ass ugly organic fruit..but, they let you sample anything you wanted..once I had them break open a watermelon..something tells me the workers loved using as an excuse to finish it off<g>

I shop exclusively at WF or its equivalent but farmers markets in season when at all possible..but if I had kids to feed?..I'd need a second job!..this winter I'm going to sow a bunch of winter veggies like kale, spinach, etc..my homegrown Italian parsley this year is the best and richest flavor I've ever had..even the organic store bought doesn't come close..

PS..they were charging $10.99/pound for Ranier cherries last week..I put my foot down on that one!

PPS..I sample everything from berries, cherry tomatoes at WF..I'm waiting for someone to hassle me about it so I can recite to them my EOY 2006 credit card total!<g>
