Other ASH note -
Steven was very clear in stating that they were negotiating for a long time on the private placement and felt that the announcements about interoperability with Microsoft and Juniper Networks that came out of the Interop demo May 20-25 would help support share price and would be able to negotiate higher price and /or lower discount to market - due to market conditions that did not happen, therefore the $2.05 It would have been impossible to re-start negotiations from square one.
He mentioned a few times how important the demo with Microsoft and Juniper were and how well received. The only other main co out there not aligned at this time in this huge area is Cisco but he did alude to the fact that it could only be a matter of time before Cisco jumps in due to their relationship with Microsoft in this area. Again, the whole key is INTEROPERABILITY.
As respects Hitachi hard drives with Seccude (sp)- SS again explained that even though the hard drive may be secure, without Wave tpm use in server - companies that purchse them, will NOT be able to prove to Govt officials in event of stolen laptop, that the laptop in essence was secure etc. at the time lost or stolen - hence again the need for Wave.
