The issue is clear -- a covert CIA agent puts their life at risk -- and the value of a covert CIA agent as a national security asset is lost when their identity is revealed. The lives of many others are also put at risk. This was a valid grand jury investigation into the persons responsible for harming national security at the White House. By lying and obstructing this investigation, Libby received and deserves to go to jail.
