In fairness to China, ethylene glycol isn't too toxic.
  Interesting argument.
You have conceded that the agent disseminating ethylene glycol for human consumption is "China," very interesting, and that we should be "fair" to "China", very interesting, because, despite the fact that ethylene glycol is toxic, it's not "too toxic."
I don't know about New Zealand but in the US there is a lot of publicity against allowing pets around antifreeze (ethylene glycol solution) because it's sweet and tastes good, and thus, is a very common agent of inadvertent pet poisoning. The concept of humans consuming antifreeze and other sources of ethylene glycol, other than pets and infants and others without full adult capacity was, hithertofore, unthinkable.
Maybe y'all don't use antifreeze in New Zealand.
We went through our refrigerator and pantry and threw away every item from China, even Lee Kum Kee, even XO sauce, even made in Taiwan. A couple hundred dollars worth of food and condiments and herbs into the garbage, but the peace of mind is worthwhile.
Not another edible or consumable from China, not in my lifetime, not even tea. I'm done with China.
The culture is irredeemably corrupt. Not necessarily the people, as individuals, but the people have little say in their government. |
