I currently pay about $95 for broadband Internet access and extended-basic cable TV. I am wondering when Joost and/or other Internet TV service websites offer full-blown ad-supported TV programs, why should I pay $50/month to Comcast if I can access the same programs free from the Internet. On the other hand, when all the content owners can grab 75% of the advertisement revenue from Joost rather than the current 50% revenue sharing model with Comcast, Joost my replace Comcast before long.

Soon the content owners may further find that, with off-the-shell software and a cheap server farm with broadband connection through a carrier, such as T, VZ, Q, LVLT, XO, … they can keep 100% of the revenue.

What would our media and telecom industry look like in 3-5 years?
