You can't depend on the tv/newspaper/etc to keep you informed because they don't even mention the majority of problems, ...so here are two sites to help stay current on warnings/recalls/etc: FDA - Recalls, Market Withdrawals and Safety Alerts fda.gov Canadian Food Inspection Agency - Food Recalls and Allergy Alerts inspection.gc.ca ...and some general safety info: Food Safety in a Power Outage redcross.org CDC - Food Safety Office cdc.gov Many people do not think about food safety until a food-related illness affects them or a family member. While the food supply in the United States is one of the safest in the world, CDC estimates that 76 million people get sick, more than 300,000 are hospitalized, and 5,000 Americans die each year from foodborne illness. Regardless of what country you live in or are visiting, there is probably a site you can check. See this list: fda.gov A few seconds spent checking these sites regularly could save the health/life of you and your family/friends. Pass it on! CB.
