The danger in the latest "terrorist plot" wasn't that it might work (it wouldn't), but that they were a group of people that wanted to do it.

The plot itself (blowing up a jet fuel pipeline and maybe the tank farm) was nothing short of silly, even if they had the explosives and knew how to use them. The idea that the pipeline would rupture and spew flaming jet fuel all the way to JFK airport was as nonsensical as a movie where someone puts a rag in a car's gas filler pipe and explodes the car. Just doesn't work like that.

But, despite the silliness of the anticipated explosion, the fact remains that they wanted to do it.

The FBI is so busy patting itself on the back for exposing the plan, I guess they never stopped to wonder how silly THEY look for their stupid comments about the seriousness of the plot.
