BUSINESS SUMMARY
Verigy, Ltd., together with its subsidiaries, designs, develops, manufactures, and sells test systems and solutions for the semiconductor industry in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific. The company offers a 93000 Series platform to test system-on-a-chip (SOC), system-in-a-package (SIP), and memory devices; and Versatest V5000 Series platform to test memory devices, including flash memory and multi chip packages. SOCs and SIPs are semiconductors that integrate the functionality of multiple individual integrated circuits (IC) onto a single IC or package of ICs and contain both digital and analog functionalities, including radio frequency capabilities, communication interfaces, and embedded memory. Verigy also provides consulting, and service and support offerings, such as start-up assistance, application services, and system calibration and repair. Its products are used by semiconductor companies in design validation, characterization, and high volume manufacturing test. The company sells its products and services to integrated device manufacturers; test subcontractors, including specialty assembly, package, and test companies; wafer foundries; and fabless design companies. Verigy is headquartered in Singapore, Singapore.

It is a "US company" spun off from Agilent spun off from HPQ, but it is a great emerging markets play....

I like it because, being based (listed) in the US, they are subject to US accounting rules while most of the growth and sales are in Asia, where the growth is.

I've done really, really well with this one.



For both my newsletter and personal accounts, I made two buys in 2006 under $16 ($15.00 via spin off and $15.61 after the first big correction) and I recently added at $25.60 on the "correction" to the 50 DMA line.
