If a primary objective is to cater to business users, then I can see an awful lot of VPN'ing going on under 4G, probably more so than one would ordinarily stop to think. Anytime I think VPNs, heightened security measures and access controls are not far behind, which causes me to immediately think about the dichotomy of enterprise IT vs. service provider managed services, and in this case 4G operators vying to do soup to nuts. Don't mind me, I'm just thinking aloud for a moment, although I do happen to be pondering a similar VPN related issue at the moment, but it's still primarily wireline-based. That said, WiFi (WLAN) routers/APs are beginning to have an impact in this regard, too, as extensions to wireline terminus points. These could in some ways be seen as greasing the path for future totally-untethered applications, too. What should be clear here, however, is the relative ease of delivery to consumer-level subscribers vs. nomadic business users, especially when the latter require connectivity with secured enterprise resources.
