Here's an interesting study on lying:

jbd.sagepub.com

You know what jumps to my mind after reading that abstract? What if girls get caught less because they are more social at an earlier age, and thus better liars, and so are judged as lying less? From my classroom experience I'd have to say boys are much more likely to give themselves away with physical "tells" while lying, than girls are. Girls have better control of their facial expressions while lying too. Boys are more likely to crack a smile, inappropriate to the subject matter they are lying about, than girls are.

It all fascinates me. Kids are so endlessly interesting.
