...but this still doesn't help. I have read through many similar treatises on the Y2K problem, and not one addresses the issue of the distinct lack of evidence for this problem, and the fact that the vast majority of modern hardware and modern financial applications handle post millenial date calculations correctly.

Also notice that the Y2K articles always seem to have an air of carnival sideshow to them. Lots of bold face, links to the Peter de Jager site, predictions of disaster etc.
