A disappointing effort Mish. So many words, so many quotes, but so little progress. Price trends are indeed complex and these days most all significant price trends are influenced by global supply and demand. You continue to toil away in the hope that others will join you, throw up their hands and say "price trends are too complex to assess and the global context makes little difference, so lets just say inflation is money supply and focus on the Fed". This simplistic vision of what matters and how the global economy works is worse than unhelpful. Money supply does matter. The behavior of the US Fed does matter. But it only becomes useful when seen in the light of global supply and demand trends for goods, services and capital where money supply (including credit) is extremely complex and multi-faceted and extends far beyond the US Fed.
