Sports advertising makes sense for consumer products companies such as Molson, Coke, PG, etc. because everyone uses these products, sometimes even at a game. But for a software company? What is the correlation between hockey fans or women's tennis and software buyers? Pretty low.

I have no problems with advertising in computer publications because people who read them are interested in computers and probably own one. Sports advertising doesn't make sense for a mid size software company.
