Eventually all the ipTV people will discover ip is internet protocol, and the codecs are Adobe Flash(most important encoder and decoder), and Apple Quicktime, the Mpeg codecs and many others all have to be available on set-top box connected to TV or monitors, etc. The media has to be certified and identified with the encoder to be used with the suitable decoder codec for play back.

So, set-top box is not going to be cheap. It is going to be powerful and fairly costly.
