I didn't argue that you have to be 100% certain, i asked what made you so certain. You had said:

I'm don't know what's more certain than "would clearly cause Iraq to take a turn for the worse".

re: If I assert that a pullout is a mistake, and that a large permanent presence is not needed, then what's left? Obviously a large temporary presence (well it leaves the question of whether a small permanent presence would remain).
