Democrats Call Troop Surge a Failure Before Surge is Complete

They really get more absurd by the day:

<<< Top US congressional Democrats bluntly told President George W. Bush Wednesday that his Iraq troop "surge" policy was a failure.

Senate Majority leader Harry Reid and House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi challenged the president over Iraq by sending him a letter, ahead of a White House meeting later on Wednesday.

"As many had forseen, the escalation has failed to produce the intended results," the two leaders wrote. >>>

Not only did they not let the surge have a chance, they haven't even had the basic decency and patriotism to allow the surge forces to complete their deployment. This is like saying the invasion of Normandy was a failure just after the paratroopers dropped, but before the regular forces landed on the beach. Nothing so clearly illustrates the Democrats' desperation to secure defeat in Iraq than their willingness to call ongoing operations a failure.

We'll have to see how this plays out - the Democrats are hoping that we are defeated in Iraq prior to the 2008 campaign. There are two reasons for this - one, they want their eventual Presidential candidate freed up from having to take a stand; two, they don't want to have their kook base demanding anti-war votes in the summer of 2008 as the Presidential campaign heats up. The Democrats are determined that President Bush admit defeat - or be forced to admit defeat - prior to about September of this year...thus there can be a forced withdrawal to be completed before the primary season kicks into full speed in Feb/Mar of 2008.

This, of course, is just disgusting...and for you Democrats out there who want to say that my view is incorrect, then your only defense would be to say that the Democratic leadership is monumentally stupid. Take your pick: idiot or unpatriotic.
