Makes you wonder when the obvious advantage of telecommuting will be broadly adopted.

Except for those folks who do touch labor or whose physical presence is mandatory to perform some task; there is little reason for millions of folks to clog the roads, waste time, fuel and psychic energy to go elsewhere, utilize unneeded infrastructure and then reverse the process in the evening.

If management could be taught to manage tasks on an output basis rather than input, ie worker punched in, billions of dollars of wasted resources could be saved.
