Democrats on Capitol Hill have pledged to cut earmarks in half from prior levels. President Bush is demanding that the number and total cost of earmarks be cut in half.

I'm afraid that Bush and the GOP are a day late and a dollar short here. They had a chance to put the brakes on spending and instead, put the pedal to the metal. Put the Dems to shame in that regard. A pox on both their houses.. :-(
