Johnny, I'm not rejecting your use of the word "porn". The english language gives you leeway to use words in ways that would add to the list of definitions for them in the dictionaries.
I was trying to point out to you that, from what I've read in the dictionary and am familiar with about the use of that word, that you are using it in a way that would puzzle most people. You satisfied my inquiry as to what you meant by it.
Until that word's usage changes, I don't think you should be surprised if anyone else would have puzzlement about its application to, say, chocolate ice cream or tobacco.
Yes, I can understand that if tobacco and anything else, even so seemingly innocent as chocolate ice cream, were "dragged through the mud" as pornography does with the natural use of sexuality, it too would be aptly labeled that way.
On the market being like a casino - I've read interviews with successful traders who consider it that way. Larry Hite, I believe, is the one who first read the book "Beat the Dealer" (a book by a mathematics professor about the probabilities involved in the game of blackjack) before getting involved in the market on a risk/probability basis. Also, many financial writings refer to speculators in the market as "players". Larry Hite's attention was drawn to the similarities when he discovered that the term "blue chip" as applied to some stocks is derived from the color of the largest denomination chips used in some casinos.
You don't believe God is present in the commodity pits, as Mark Ritchie does? Well, the Bible tells us that there is no place where God is not present. I am in his presence and being closely observed by him where I am, and you where you are. There is no place, including the commodity pits, where you, I or anyone else can go to get away from him.
Here is one scripture on the above topic, from Acts chapter 17: "...That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being..."
Best regards to you too Johnny. :)
