"I can't wait to see how you respond to Tim's response to this post. "

Why bother? Tim thinks there is something special there. I don't. there isn't any particular shortage of human genetic material, and I am not particularly attached to something that isn't capable of interaction and has no experiences. Until birth, they are all whited out on endorphin saturation and have extreme difficulty in fixing memory. So, aside from genetics, they don't have a personality.

So, until birth, they aren't individuals. They are robots. They cannot accumulate experience except in a very limited way. So why should I get all excited about the issue? Now, true, we can support said fetuses from a fairly early age. But their quality of life generally sucks. Vision, hearing, cognitive abilities and other things provide them with great challenges.

So birthing them at early stages of development is not a gift if quality of life is a goal.

Me? I happen to think such are important. And no, I don't think that those who have been birthed should be evaluated. I guess I am sentimental on that issue.

Once they are capable of being individuals, they are protected. Before then, nope.
