Speaking of peeking over a shoulder, I watched "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" last night. Man, where do they get these contestants. One woman was on and was asked, "how many feet are in 2 1/2 yards?" BTW, she is a graduate of Texas Christian, which may explain her answer. "Well, there are 352 feet in one yard. I learned that in chemistry class." Can you imagine the storage problem she has with her yardsticks? <G> And, I've taken several chemistry classes. I don't remember anything we did being measured in feet and yards. But, it might be different if you are cooking up batches of cocaine in Peru. <G> BTW, the 5th grader she cheated off of also got it wrong, and nearly as badly.
They had a pair of twins and these guys were asked in what mountain range Mt. Everest was located. Not only is that an easy question, but they gave them multiple choice: The Alps, The Andes or The Himalayas. They said The Alps and the 5th grader saved them. They ended up winning $175,000.
You have to wonder if an adult has to be an idiot to get on the show? |
