You have an interesting attitude.

You seem to accept some of the downsides of our government without serious complaint and then assume that because that's the way it is, that's the way it has to be.

I am very much against many of the things our government does. I feel the same as you about about our military for example. Based on your comments, I suspect there are lots of other things we agree on too.

I just refuse to accept that it has to remain that way.

I want to maximize my freedom.

The difference between us is that I believe GOVERNMENT is the problem and it reduces my freedom.

Once the power and money are inside GOVERNMENT and its institutions, some people (I like to refer to them as intrinsically evil) will use it to transfer wealth and more power to themselves at the expense of others. They will use it to force their personal values on us too.

However, some of the methods are so well hidden, I do believe that only a moderate percentage of the people can understand what is being done to them. An even smaller percentage of those have the time and energy to get informed.

So the "intrinsically evil" among us get away with it decade after decade. They expand their power and their institutions, rape us all blind, and take away our freedoms a little at a time.
