These are familiar Palestinian dilemmas: If you regularize discussions with Israelis, do you render routine the occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip? If you abandon armed struggle, do you retain leverage over a militarily superior opponent? If you compromise in advance, do you weaken your hand? No. Martin Luthor King showed them the way to get a state. And even if the right wing assholes in Israel deported a few of them, they just needed a few more years of patience, and a few more followers of King's ideas. There are plenty of Israelis who just want normal lives, as I'm sure there are plenty of Palestineans who want the same. But of course there are people on both sides who will deport or kill people who stand up for normality and decency. Well, its possible that global warming will take care of this conflict as well as all others, lol.
