JD,
I think you meant PPK/S.

It is an excellent choice. I have mine in my fanny pack holster as I type this.

You may find these tidbits interesting.
The original PP I carried in SF as back-up was smaller. Here is the explanation. PP was the original made for the military and I recall it only held six rounds. PPK is the police model. PPK stands for Polizei Pistole Kriminal. The cops wanted more ammo in the magazine and they got a little longer barrel.

One of our gun law changes made size important and the original PP was deemed too small to import. Walther figured out that putting a PPK slide on a PP frame would conform to the new law thus the PPK/S was born. The S means special.

SF prefers the SJHP 9 mm ammo (Steel jacketed hollow points) and I suggest you consider them. The regular ammo is cheaper and fine for target practise.
But the 9mm is not being used by SF in Iraq. SF carries a 45 there because they shoot at so many hard targets like vehicles.

Eagle Industries makes a size medium fanny pack holster for automatics. It is a perfect fit for the PPK/S and is what I usually use. With a little practise you can have the gun in your hand faster than most people blink.

H&K has a new 45 designed specifically for concealed carry. As soon as I get a chance to test fire it and confirm what I've read, I plan to purchase one. but I'll always have a Walther handy too. One has been in my hands too long to give up on it now.
