LOL! "The market" has a rather serious distortion in it.
Oh, how paleolib of you. When "the market" reacts to a stupid politically induced "distortion", of course it's an obvious reaction of libs, old and new, to fault "the market" rather than blame "the distortion".
The US tax code is an ever multiplying, multi thousand page, byzantine abomination of carrots and sticks, pork and perks, mandates and surcharges and subsidies, all real examples of "distortions" to "the market" that serve to keep the pols in business by rewarding their friends, buying votes and punishing their opponents.
When some flavor of "lib" advocates shit canning the whole rotten system and substituting a no deduction flat tax or a national sales tax, then it might be time to listen to a "lib". In the meantime, it might be more enlightening to listen to a libertarian (classic liberal). "The market", that you so sarcastically disparage, really does work, when it's left free to do so.
BTW, sales of gas hogs are down and will continue to go further down as fuel prices increase, regardless of what "plans" and "distortions" that neolibs, neocons, reds and greens and assorted bungling political buffoons have to say. |
