Frank, if you want to analyze the technology behind the issue don't let me stop you. Let us know what you find. I would find it interesting. But I suggest to save time, you talk to others who have already done it and have all the answers. That's all. (And there are plenty who have the answers to all of your questions.) I assume this whole VoIP wiretapping issue was news to you. And that makes me sad because it illustrates how few people really are even aware of it. There are 520,000 articles minimum on this topic. The one I pulled was just one of hundreds of thousands. See for yourself. Look, it's OK, nobody can know everything. I've been working with electro-optical systems for 30 years, yet I learn something new every day. But your original musing was correct, the laws have not kept up with the technology. And that is a very bad thing for a society that considers itself "free". It's easy to miss things like this that are run in political "stealth mode" isn't it?
