First, I want to say thanks to Bill for creating this thread, because it gives people some opposing opinions on the year 2000 issue, and may cause them to think twice before investing.

Second, I have worked on year 2000 issues myself, and I know it is not a 'scam, hype, hoax, or fraud.' The issue is real, it needs to be addressed, and it is going to be quite costly, both in terms of hard cash, and resources.

But after reading many of the threads on this site related to companies that proclaim to be year 2000 related, I have to say, there is an enormous amount of hyping going on, and I believe much of it is complete and utter rubbish. I think we are going to see a number of these highly speculative year 2000 issues crash and burn in the next year, as it becomes obvious that the hype was just too much.
