of course he's not being honest , he is playing for protection against losing presidential run and later another run for the senate. I do not think he gave up his senate seat, no of course not they all want to return to the cush job, all it perks, and power. there was a representative(az?) , used to on Imus show a lot, heavy guy who lost a ton of weight, republican. he lost his race based on support of the fence. He took a strong position against amnesty.
