Digital TV problems had always been a blue screen of death, because of lack of usable data to be presented on the monitor or TV screen. DirecTV when raining will have blue screen all day. So will ipTV with Mpeg4/h.264 unable to decode by the regimented mathematical formula use for decoding. With any cached data, a fuzzy logic software will be able to present the last picture available to show that programming had stalled. Soon another picture can be presented that had no digital signal lost. A simpler picture resolution perhaps. A tivo program perhaps? Any thing but blue screen that had no value to subscribers.

The ipTV triple play bandwidth will eventually enable substituted presentation, DVR will save a rainy day for DirecTV.

But ultimately, the triple play bandwidth is built to reach the population in Africa, cheaply and effectively for business development.
