It is interesting that Gilmore is aiming for what might become a "sweet spot" for many republican voters: The anti-Iraq, Pro-family values, pro-Christianity position. So far none of the other republican hopefuls are solid on all three legs of this stool (as shown by the last debate). I am excluding Ron Paul from this analysis, as a true libertarian doesn't want government influence or interference on family issues, etc.

Gilmore can now differentiate himself from Huckabee and some of the others. Brownback may be the closest to this position...but he hasn't gone as far on the war, has he?

As forecast by many, the move away from Mr. Bush's policies on the war by the candidates has to occur. It's just a matter of when and how.
