For the record-although I am now completely confused about how this all got so blown up- I believe I was reacting to some columns about him, which were really melodramatic and silly, imo, and gave him no credit for the work and commitment, and not his performance- though I do think the show definitely emphasized the Cinderella story, which we all love.
