NEW YORK, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- 0CG Technology, Inc. ( OCG Technology Inc ) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, PrimeCare Systems, Inc. ("PSI") has signed an agreement with Massachusetts based Surgical Associates of Cambridge, Inc. ("SAC") under which PSI will license its PrimeCare(TM) Patient Management System software to SAC on a fee for use basis for use with SAC's patient base. SAC is physician-owned and operates three facilities in the Boston area which contract with hospitals to perform General, Vascular, Hepato-Biliary and Endovascular surgery. SAC's surgeons hold facility appointments at Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine and are affiliated with The Cambridge Hospital, Mount Auburn Hospital, The Medical Center at Symmes, New England Deaconess Hospital and Youville Hospital.
Dr. Horst S. Filtzer, President of SAC stated, "As practicing surgeons, we continually strive to maintain and improve our skills and to keep abreast of the latest advances in surgical science and medical technology for the benefit of those entrusted to our professional care. I believe that the PrimeCare System is an advancement in medical technology which will further our goal of providing the highest quality care to our patients, both before and after surgery."
Edward Levine, President of OCG joined Daniel Rockmore, President of PSI stating "We are pleased that our PrimeCare Patient Management System has been selected for use by a surgical group of the caliber of SAC and are gratified that our PrimeCare System software will be used to create electronic medical records for their surgical patients."
PSI's PrimeCare System enables physicians to improve the quality of patient care while reducing health care costs. The approach is centered on a patient-computer interactive system which records the patient's history via responses to simple "yes" or "no" on-screen queries. Through its use, the PrimeCare System provides the physician with the possible diagnoses of the patient's complaint and with expert physician medical reference material which may be viewed on-screen or printed at the touch of a button. In addition, the PrimeCare System provides patients with printed educational materials concerning their disease and its management and prescribed medications, cross-checks for drug interactions, and prints out legible prescriptions to reduce pharmacy errors. The PrimeCare System also automates the production of a complete patient record, replacing hand written or dictated records. The medical content of the PrimeCare System is maintained and updated by the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
OCGT also manufactures and markets the Cardiointegraph, a patented device for the early detection of coronary heart disease in patients who have a normal resting electrocardiogram. In addition, it markets medical billing software to physicians and other healthcare providers. SOURCE OCG Technology, Inc. |
