It serves to undermine this democracy----- that is anti-American.

It is propaganda that tears down the trust and faith that Americans place in their country and that other nations place in America.

I would submit that never uttering a disturbing word is the greater threat to democracy. The notion that our country's officials never make a mistake, never do anything wrong, or if they do something wrong, we should go along silently lest we tear down trust and faith in our country is utterly counter to the notion of democracy. It's also contrary to the very American notion of the marketplace, where ideas are put out there and people can adopt or discard them at will. Democracy requires less faith in our officials and more faith in the wisdom of the people.

I share your concern about propaganda, but propaganda doesn't just come from one side. What undermines our democracy, IMO, is our reliance on dueling propaganda rather than thoughtful analysis.
