As to who is relating hypothetical extraterrestial life to philosophical and religious importance, you are. You've done so in several earlier posts. Even the last one, where you said "and it will be found" (a statement of faith) and "a whole bunch of religious people are going to be scrambling for new sermons".

I can tell you that the finding of life on another planet would not trouble many religious people. I grew up among religious people and they generally speculate that there is life elsewhere in the universe because of the universe's size. I recall people you would call fundamentalists casually saying this decades ago in my youth.
